Introduction to Mr. Xingyong Hu
Mr. Xingyong Hu has
extensive experience and expertise in the field of education. He has
many titles, including the Executive Member of the Foreign Language
Association of Zhejiang Province. Mr. Hu is also a former associate
professor in the English Department of Jiaxing College. He has
written a number of books about language teaching and learning,
including titles such as: ¡®50 Problems of English Grammar¡¯ and ¡®The
Pedagogical Grammar of English¡¯ published by Shanghai Educational
Press in 1983 and 1987 respectively. Other titles include ¡®A Guide
to the Use of Semantically-Related English Prepositions¡¯ published
by East China Normal University Press in 1989, and ¡®A Concise
Dictionary of Colloquial Idioms of Everyday English¡¯ published by
Tianjing People¡¯s Press 1992. Mr. Hu has also published many
articles in a variety of educational journals, totaling in excess of
one million words. All these publications advocate a teaching method
that combines communicative and functional approaches in teaching
English as a foreign language. Mr Hu¡¯s dedication to educational
research and the development of educational philosophy has earned
him a highly respected reputation in this field.
Mr Hu graduated from the
Department of Philosophy at Shanghai Fudan University. Since then he
has made an enormous contribution to the development of the
contemporary philosophy of teaching and school management that is
adopted by this school. He has done so by through dedication to the
principles and practices of Marxist philosophy, by maintaining an
in-depth knowledge of contemporary teaching methods from both home
and abroad, and by drawing on the wisdom of all staff members of the
