Teaching Features

Since the founding of this school ten years ago, teachers have developed many different teaching methods in their classes in order to train students in different levels, and to help them reach or surpass the middle school level. The results in this school are remarkable due to both the practice of teaching students according to their aptitude, and to the overall variety of teaching methods adopted by teachers. Such methods include: teaching in small classes, teaching with the elicitation method, learning through practice and many other ways. For the high achieving students, the school has established a tutor system to further improve their abilities. For less able students, teachers are always available to give individual coaching after class. It is our teaching methodology that has helped nearly 50% of the student body to be admitted into key senior schools. In 2004, it was a student from this school who received first place in Jiaxing City for the Senior School Entrance Examination.

Teaching

The motto of the 21st Century Foreign Language School is ¡®Learn How to Live ¨C Learn How to Study¡¯. This motto expresses our intention to guide and train students for success in their future lives - to become qualified professionals while at the same time being ready for the many other demands they will encounter in future society. The philosophy of the school is to consider the moral education as the first priority, while other high priorities are academic performance, learning life skills, physical health and fitness, and appreciation of the arts. The school is strict with the management of students in the areas of both teaching and discipline. Student management strategies are introduced to students in stages, becoming stricter in the later years; a practical way to discipline students. We aim to teach students by using relevant examples from their real lives, and our methods encourage self-supervision within the student body. All methods are designed for the development of comprehensive skills, and our overall aim is for students to receive an all-rounded education. Evidence of the success of such methods can be seen in our graduates, who prove to be much more mature in their interaction within society than those from other schools.
