    to The Twenty-First Century Foreign Language School     

    Founded by Mr. Xingyong Hu in 1995, JFS is a private boarding school with highly developed and contemporary educational and management philosophies. A team of highly skilled and experienced teachers and staff operate in a school environment with advanced teaching facilities, resources and equipment. Students enjoy excellent accommodation in their living quarters and study areas.

    There are 110 teachers employed at the school, including ten foreign language teachers from Australia and Japan. The majority of teachers at the school have earned the title of junior, senior or master teacher, through the demonstration of their high level teaching skills and experience.

    In 2000, JFS was honoured with the title of ‘Best Private School’ by the Provincial Government of Zhejiang. In January of 2003 the school successfully underwent a thorough evaluation by the International Standards Organisation (ISO), an educational standards body based in Shanghai. Following this evaluation the ISO granted JFS its certificate of approval. For the past three years in a row, after intense and thorough investigation and evaluation, JSF has been honoured with the recommendation from District Government of Jiaxing as a school which is ‘among the best’in the province.

    The school occupies 45 hectares of land, the total building size covering 20,000 square metres. There are 40 standard classrooms and 20 smaller classrooms for oral language study and advanced study groups. There are nine specialised rooms including science laboratories, information technology laboratories and multi-media rooms.

    In the non-teaching area of the school, the living areas and cafeteria cover 2,135 square metres.

    The student dormitories cover 6,000 square metres. Each dormitory has a bathroom, air-conditioner and a separate laundry, as well as the accommodation of the pastoral supervisor. There is also a medical room equipped with nursing staff and first aid equipment, which is open 24 hours.

    The leading level consists of the offices of the school administration. Located on this level are the offices of the Chairman, the Principal, and the Dean, as well as the Administrative Office, the Teaching Research Office, the Student Management Office, and the Maintenance Office. Other levels house the 1300 students – 26 junior classes, 11 senior classes.

    After 10 years of significant dedication to developing effective educational methods and productive school management practices we at JFS have designed our very own individual and honourable way of running a private school - for the first time in the history of China.
